Career Center & Transfer Center Joy Fisher
The Career Center offers a professional counseling service designed to extend career information and guidance to students who need help in selecting a career goal or a college major, or are considering alternate choices. This service allow well as discuss plans for a meaningful and realistic career selection.
The Transfer Center is an information resource center. The Center houses the online national catalog collection for all U.S. colleges and universities along with the publications necessary to identify major offerings across the country. The Center regularly schedules appointments with representatives from four year universities so that students may obtain current information and access to support services. The Center also coordinates the annual College and University Transfer Fair each fall semester. Applications and university entrance requirements for transfer students are available in the Center. Students are encouraged to visit the Transfer Center early in their academic careers so they may benefit by making informed decisions.

Over 60% of Harbor College’s students indicate transfer as their educational goal. You may know which university you’d like to attend after Harbor, and counselors can help you take the right classes to transfer to that university. If you are not sure which university you would like to attend, counselors will both help you with that decision, and help you select classes that can transfer to a variety of universities. Honors Transfer Program
The Honors Transfer Program is a cooperative effort between LAHC and UCLA, USC, CSUDH, University, Chapman University, UC Santa Cruz, Pomona College, UC Riverside, and UC Irvine which provides high achieving students with a program of enriched coursework designed in cooperation with universities. Qualified students may elect to take Honors courses without being in the Harbor Transfer Program. Selected courses may be taken for contract Honors credit. The International Student Program helps F-1 visa students adapt to a cultural environment that differs from that of their home country. The services provided to F-1 Visa Students are orientation to college programs and services, advisement on D.H.S. (Department of Homeland security) requirements, advisement on academic and personal matters, and referral information for housing and community programs.

The Welcome Center at Los Angeles Harbor College is a testimonial for the institutional support the College provides for new and returning students. The Center is primarily a one-stop shopping point for new students to begin the matriculation process, plus supp toward student success and retention, and is geared to engage students in the educational process. Outreach, academic, and support services are provided to assist students from application to graduation.
Welcome Center Services
Veteran Services Persons planning to attend Los Angeles Harbor College under one of the veteran educational bills should go to the veterans Office in administration building room 131 to pick up necessary paperwork. This should be done one month prior to registration in order to discuss any problems regarding enrollment, eligibility and benefit payments. Attendance is monitored monthly. The veteran must submit academic transcripts for all previous college work. Parking Vehicle laws and regulations, including those regarding illegal parking, are applicable on campus. The parking lot across from the campus on the north side of "L" street is not owned by LAHC, and Campus Sheriffs do not patrol it. Students and staff park there at their own risk. The college administration urges you to use one of the campus parking lots. Parking on campus is by permit only. The Los Angeles Community College District, Board of Trustees, Associated Student body, employees or agents are not responsible for any loss, including but not limited to theft, property damage, and bodily injury, as a result of your use of the parking lots.
