PRIORITY REGISTRATION DATES

Winter 2009 - October 27, 2008

Spring 2009 - November 17, 2008

These are the start dates for priority registration.  Not all EOPS students will be able to register on these dates.

Please let someone in the EOPS office know if your registration date falls after October 29 for the winter or November 19 for the spring.

PROGRESS REPORTS

Progress report forms can be found here (requires Adobe Acrobat Reader).  Please make sure to submit your completed progress report when you come in for your second contact.

We have changed the format for the progress report .  The progress report is now included on a form that also has a student checklist on it.  We hope that students will use the checklist to remind themselves of their program obligations.  Please be sure to read the whole form as it contains very useful information for EOPS students.

FALL 2008 WORKSHOP SCHEDULE

The complete listing of EOPS/CARE workshops for Fall 2008 can be found here (requires Adobe Acrobat Reader).

All EOPS students are required to attend at least one workshop each semester (unless enrolled in a PD 17 class).  Failure to do so will result in money being taken from your next book award/cash grant.  Please inquire within the EOPS office for an alternative arrangement if you are unable to attend any workshop.

We will give credit for attendance at other workshops as long as the proper documentation is submitted.

ELECTRONIC TEXTBOOKS ARE COMING!

The EOPS program is currently researching offering eTextbooks to EOPS students.  eTextbooks are textbooks in digital form that students can either download to their computer to read or read directly from a website. We hope to be offering eTextbooks in our book loan library early next year, eventually offering them as part of EOPS student book awards.

Please let us know what you think about this idea by completing a short survey.

TUTORING

We currently offer tutoring in Math, English, Accounting, and some C.I.S./C.A.O.T. classes. Additional tutoring may also be available in the Learning Assistance Center (LAC).

We are currently looking for tutors for any science course. If interested, please contact Mercy Yanez, Associate Dean of EOPS.
