ITEMS/MOTIONS NOTICED FOR ACTION SEPTEMBER 6

Request for Payment for Ancillary Activity

Proposed by the Academic Planning and Policy Committee.  After some discussion, there was Unanimous consent to amend the application and approval process specified on the back of the form by replacing the word "should" in item 4 with the word "shall".  Unanimous consent to approve the form as amended [see attachment].

          Senate representatives on college committees

Ms. Smith reported the two nominations for the Senate's three seats on the College Planning Council already received, and two other nominations were made from the floor.  The candidates elected were Brad Young, Nabeel Barakat, and Mark Wood.  Unanimous consent to select Susan McMurray, Pam Watkins, and Beverly Shue as the Senate's representatives on the District Academic Senate, in addition to the Senate president.  Unanimous consent to refer the remaining positions to the Executive Committee, which will submit to the Senate a complete slate of nominees at its first meeting in October, with further notice to be provided division chairs and general faculty in the meantime.  Ms. Fasteau and Ms. Shue pointed out that there are at least two advisory committees that require Senate representatives, and these positions should be provided for.  Unanimous consent to appoint Ms. Fasteau as the Senate’s representative on both the Middle High School Advisory Committee and the Matriculation Committee.  It was proposed that the Senate formally designate representatives on the Core Committee and consider its proper status.
