School of Public Safety


LA Harbor College has been selected as the primary educational provider for the Los Angeles World Airports Police Bureau. This unique partnership allows LAHC to offer courses on the airport facility to meet the demanding schedules of their employees and to work with senior staff for specialized training programs. The Administration of Justice department provides both the traditional degree and certificate programs, along with specialized one day to six week intensive training sessions. Anyone interested in these classes may contact the A.J. department.

The Administration of Justice Department is dedicated to excellence in education. L.A. Harbor College is now offering a full curriculum in the field of Public Safety to include the academic studies in Law Enforcement, Correctional Science, Airport Safety Operations, Port Safety Operations and Private Security. The field of studies are offered in the traditional classroom environment, accelerated P.A.C.E. program, and through Distance Learning via computerized classroom technology. Several courses are offered off campus at the Federal Correctional Institutional, Terminal Island: Los Angeles World Airport; and in the Ports O'Call Village in San Pedro. A.J. Club

 

The Administration of Justice Club is made up with students who are seeking a career in the criminal justice field or who are currently working in the field.    The club members meet on a monthly basis at Harbor College with scheduled guest speakers and refreshments.   The club also schedules tours of local criminal justice facilities, such as police facilities, jail and prison facilities and training facilities.

Students interested in becoming a member should contact a club member for an application.
