The latest information on the bond measure projects was passed out. Dr. Mary Lee has agreed to take any editing changes to the Board of Trustees. If the bond measure passes, we are allowed to not do some of the things listed, but we cannot add anything new. Therefore, if we have left anything out, now is the time to edit the list. One hundred twenty-four million dollars would come to Harbor College if the measure passes. A review of the other colleges’ projects shows that Theater/Cultural Arts Centers and Media Centers are the popular types of buildings. It was suggested that we might combine the Community Services and Business Center. Mr. Wood doesn’t think we need a larger theater facilities and that the 350 limit accommodates our community now. A larger Theater and Media Center would require an additional amount of faculty, which we don’t have.
It was agreed that Friday, January 26, at 12:30 p.m., there will be a brown bag lunch in the Staff Dining Room to discuss the projects list and do a final edit. Everyone should go back to his or her areas to discuss and come back with suggested editing.
The shared governance draft was discussed today at the Academic Senate meeting. They will bring back feedback and expect to be done by March 15. Dr. Spink will have the two sets of comments made by Dr. Hudson and Ms. Menzies on the draft duplicated and distributed. The draft could be placed in a word document and put out where people could make their comments. Sam Sandt can put this document out on the web and through Group-Wise. Gary Wood could also put out an announcement in the weekly bulletin. At each meeting we will spend an hour working on the draft so that it can be finished by mid-March.
The Minutes were approved as distributed.
The President’s Inauguration will take place on Friday, March 23, at 11 a.m. Mark Wood and Nina Malone are working on this event.
