| KEN MILLER, Music Department Chairman, was a working performer/composer/arranger in Hollywood prior to joining the staff at Harbor College in 1977. While building his composing career, he played trumpet with bands ranging from Stan Kenton to Lawrence Welk. As a composer/orchestrator he worked on such films as Viva Max, Lady in Cement, and Too Hot to Handle. His television credits include Mission Impossible, Movie of the Week, The Interns, Brackerns World, The Partridge Family, and Lassie. Mr. Miller worked on some 20 record albums for RCA. His composition commissions included a symphony, which was also awarded a National Endowment for the Arts grant; a jazz suite which was premiered at the L.A. Music Center; and numerous festival pieces for high school and college jazz bands. His compositions for chamber ensembles and jazz bands are published by Belwin-Mills, Hal Leonard, and Life-Line Press. | |||||||||||||
