INTRODUCTION TO TRIGONOMETRY
Narrative Databases and Pen Based Tablets
Introduction
These links point to narrative MS Power Points (PPT’s) that I use in all my classes. These PPT’s “replay” line–by–line my classroom lectures. They constitute one component of what I call the narrative tablet instructional platform (NTIP) an instructional system. (The other components of the NTIP are the PPT–notebook and classroom instruction based on these PPT’s.) Mathematics knowledge are “systemic knowledge” and they are recorded using “objects” such as symbols, tables, diagrams, charts, graphs, and drawings. In the static printed form such as textbooks or web articles, mathematics are complex mazes of these “objects” threaded between texts that are often vague and easily misinterpreted. These PPT's help to preserve the narration and content-deconstruction that instructors provide for students. I believe that NTIP is useful in transferring all type of systemic knowledge, that is, in a deconstructed manner. Specifically I hope they will offer some relief in the challenging task of learning mathematics.
