President's Distinguished Honor Award

The President's Distinguished Honor Award is one of the most significant and praiseworthy honors available to students in the Los Angeles Community College District.

 

This certificate is awarded at the Academic Honors Ceremony and honorees will be recognized at the Graduation Ceremony. In order to be considered for the award, a candidate must:

 

1. Petition for the Associate Degree
2. Achieve a grade-point-average of 3.70 or better in all college work attempted at the time of petition, and be in good standing.
3. Complete at least 50% of all units utilized for the award within the Los Angeles Community College District.
4. Achieve a grade-point-average of 3.70 and be in good standing in all college work attempted at the end of the Fall semester or the Spring semester.

 

Honorees and Candidates for this award will be listed in the Graduation Ceremony program.

 

After the final grade point evaluation, if the student achieved a 3.70 GPA, he or she will be awarded the President's Distinguished Honor Award. Students who possess Associate, equivalent or advanced degrees are not eligible for this award.

 

Important Notice

 

Please be aware that being on the Deans' or President's Honors List does not mean you are eligible for the President's Distinguished Honor Award.

 

The requirements to qualify for the President's Distinguished Honor Award are much more difficult to attain. This is why it is the highest academic honor awarded in the Los Angeles Community College District.
