Welcome to Los Angeles Harbor College’s Accreditation website:
Los Angeles Harbor College is an accredited institution that follows a process of self-study to assure educational quality and well-ordered operations. Harbor College is accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC) of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), an institutional accrediting body recognized by the Council on Post-secondary Accreditation and the U.S. Department of Education. Sustaining accreditation requires an ongoing campus-wide effort to monitor and to insure that all academic and support programs promote student success.
Los Angeles Harbor College sustains a campus-wide climate of accreditation based on planning, assessment, and evaluation. Integral to this work is strengthening the link between data (from Student Learning and Service Area Outcomes with input from Program Reviews) into all planning and budget decisions. Standard teams and the Accreditation Steering Committee meet each semester to review activities pertinent to the Actionable Improvement Items and to keep the campus updated on broader accreditation issues.
If you are interested in joining this effort and supporting the college community, check the Shared Governance Calendar for meeting dates or contact any of the accreditation coordinators, Ellen Joiner, Jim Stanbery, or Yesenia King.
