Administrative Report
Dr. Spink summarized two college presentations to district committees: yesterday's presentation of our Oct. 15 accreditation progress report to the Planning and Student Success Committee, and our Sept. 24 presentation to the Fiscal Responsibility Committee detailing our budget cuts.
Mr. Rosas reported that fall enrollment is 12.3% above last year.

Senate Representation on College Committees
Unanimous consent to appoint Stan Sandell as a Senate representative on the Academic Affairs Committee.
Ms. J. Smith pointed out that Ms. McMurray will be unable to serve as Senate representative to the ASO and invited any senator to volunteer as her replacement.
Faculty Hiring Priorities Manual
Dr. Joiner distributed a summary of the process employed in developing the proposed revisions. She then summarized the recommended changes working from the copy of the document in the meeting packet.
Unanimous consent to revise 'OrganizationII/A/B/2/b' to begin: "A division in its first year of existence will not be bound by the 'Prior Year' rule, that is, such divisions...."
Unanimous consent to retain the original language of 'Academic Senate ApprovalII and III'.
Unanimous consent to insert the words "in writing" in 'AppealsB' to read "shall be made in writing within ten college business days...."
Unanimous consent to place the document as amended before the body.
Consent to adopt the document as amended (with none voting opposed and one abstaining).
COMMENTS ON DISTRIBUTED REPORTS/NOTICES/COMMITTEE MINUTES
VTEA
Mr. Young informed the Senate of a proposed Green Technology program being referred for authorization to the Curriculum Committee, stating that the district is going forward with the program and VTEA funding is available once it is authorized on campus. Mr. Munasinghe requested that information about the program be e-mailed campus-wide.
LACCD Advanced Placement Regulations
Ms. Guertin drew the Senate's attention to the pages in the meeting packet including the text of the proposed regulations, of which she urged support. The proposal is coming up for a vote in the DAS on October 13th. Unanimous consent to endorse the proposal.
Essential Skills Funding
Ms. McMurray notified the Senate that all concerned parties have been informed that colleges will be audited and fined if essential skills funding has been diverted to defray regular budget cutbacks.
