Approval of Minutes
The minutes of the September 4 meeting were approved as e-mailed with one correction: that the persons listed as nominees to represent the Senate on college committees were in fact appointed.
SPECIAL ORDER: DIALOGUE ON DISTRICT DECENTRALIZATION
Mr. Columbo distributed the District/College Functional Map delineating respective district and college responsibilities. He also alerted the Senate to the increased rigor with which the accreditation commission is monitoring conformance with its recommendations in this and other areas. The emphasis on decentralization now is on steps beyond the initial concept of ten years ago. Mr. Columbo then briefly reviewed the contents of the Functional Map. Questions and answers followed on specific complications of decentralization before moving then to more general concerns.
