Administrative Report
Mr. Rosas alerted the Senate to the open forum on the Educational Master Plan on March 27, urging maximum attendance and inviting all interested parties to attend another planning meeting in this room at 2:30 on March 9. Dean Humphreys elaborated on the approach, stressing the importance for the planning process of longer-term, larger concerns.
Dr. Tull relayed urgent ADA parking and concerns involving the new buildings. She also requested general notification by the sheriffs as to crime threats.
ITEMS/MOTIONS FOR ACTION MARCH 5
Updating of Policy and Procedures Manuals
Unanimous consent to request all committees to review their policy and procedures manuals, or where none exist, to create them, and submit the resulting documents to the APPC by the end of the semester. The committee will reissue the template previously distributed to all parties concerned.
COMMENTS ON DISTRIBUTED REPORTS/NOTICES/COMMITTEE MINUTES
DAS/EPAC
Ms. Watkins noted the increasing number of EPAC "minimum quals" denials. Mr. Young reminded the Senate that video conferencing can be used to maximize attendance in discipline committee meetings. The concensus was that DAS should mandate this and Division Council should organize it on the campus level.
Academic Affairs
It was suggested that the committee adopt an executive summary approach be adopted to make sure that meeting essentials reach the campus community promptly, and that the basic format for minutes and agendas for all campus bodies should be modernized and integrated along with the campus calendar.
