COMMENTS ON DISTRIBUTED REPORTS/NOTICES/COMMITTEE MINUTES

Senate Committees:

H.      Program Review Committee

Ms. Thomas-Spiegel drew the Senate's attention to the written report included in the meeting packet, particularly to the four recommendations with which the report concludes, which will be referred to APPC.  The responsibility of the Senate's representatives on CPC and on its cluster planning committees in seeing to it that these concerns are addressed was stressed.

CPC and Other Committees/Concerns:

S.      DAS/DCC/EPAC

Ms. Tull distributed significant revisions proposed by EPAC in the District policy on "Criteria for Serving Students with Disabilities" and summarized them [see attachment].  DAS will act on this proposal for adoption by the Board of Trustees.  The document is noticed for action by this Senate at our next meeting.  In view of the faculty responsibilities involved, all faculty are urged to study it before the Senate acts.  Ms. Tull was commended for her significant role in developing the document; and it was suggested that, assuming it is adopted, the content be provided all faculty on a summary card and included in all new faculty orientation.

P.      Staffing Committee

Mr. Wood reported that the Committee has endorsed the IT request to fill the vacant senior network specialist position with two lesser positions costing approximately the same amount.
