Mr. Rosas announced the selection of the new college president, to take office August 1, and briefly previewed the next construction cycle, now beginning.
SPECIAL ORDER: ACCREDITATION DISCUSSION WITH VICE CHANCELLOR COLOMBO
Mr. Colombo distributed a hand-out summarizing the results of the latest "cityside" accreditation visits, alerting senators to the principal concerns involved, and explaining each segment of the hand-out, reviewing outcomes campus-by-campus. Concerns were raised about full participation in SLO assessment.
Update on Grants Application and Approval Process
Mr. McNeel summarized the process, responding to questions and offering suggestions as to how the process can be made fully transparent and fully congruent with the formal college planning process.

Faculty Hiring Proposal
Unanimous consent to approve the motion as noticed, to read:
Whereas, the Physical Education Department is losing one of its four remaining full-time faculty at the end of the spring semester, 2010, and
Whereas, the current division chair of the Physical Education Department will have to take on the assignment of the athletic deirector for the spring 2011 semester in addition to his already full-time duties,
Now, Therefore, the Academic Senate of Harbor College strongly urges the college president to appoint a full-time limited position for physical education for the 2010-11 academic year.
Art on Campus Policy and Procedure Statement
Unanimous consent to suspend the rules to permit immediate action on the proposed statement, although the latest text had not been previously distributed, due to the necessity of its coming into force by the end of the semester.
Unanimous consent to approve the Statement for adoption by CPC.

Prerequisites Policy
Ms. Watkins referred senators to ASCCC proposal 9.02 in the meeting packet changing Title 5 provisions to provide a process by which prerequisites will be content- rather than data-driven.
