Dr. Munasinghe reported that the workshops have been going very well, with forty students participating.
75th Birthday Party
Ms. J. Smith drew the Senate's attention to the announcements she'd distributed inviting one and all to the Boardwalk Cafe, Friday, June 4, at 4 p.m., for the observance.
CONSENT ITEMS
Retirees Luncheon
Ms. Parker reported that we've reserved Simon's for the event, noon June 9, and made 50 reservations, which we will not go beyond except for RSVPs properly received. The price will be $30.
Charge to the Class
Dan Sanchez has agreed to give the Charge to the Class, an announcement received with strong approval.

Protecting Students and Employees from Detrimental Research
Dr. Thomas-Spiegel drew the Senate's attention to the documents in the meeting packet that have been revised extensively by her, Dean Richards, and Dr. Reigadas, to safeguard Harbor College students and staff against inappropriate research. Unanimous consent to approve the documents as previously e-mailed campuswide for adoption by CPC.

Instructional Improvement Flex Requirement
It was the sense of the Senate that the Flex Committee should meet to make sure our own requirements are fully consistent with the District-Faculty Guild MOU on adjunct obligations relative to SLOs.
