Draft Minutes of 12/01/09

 

1] The minutes of the 11/03/09 meeting were approved. (Wood/Guertin)

 

2] The following course was approved. (Watkins/Woods)

PD 017 – College Survival Skills Development – 1 hr lec, 1 unit

Online version of existing college course Pre-requisite: None

Degree applicable Rationale: Student demand

INFORMATION ITEMS

3] CB 21 – Coding Levels below transfer

The committee discussed the rankings of the following: Dev. Com., ESL, English, Math, Learning Skills.

 

4] ESL TOP Codes

New TOPS codes for English, Math, Communications skills, ESL have been made at the State level. All course outlines will need to be changed.

 

5] Board Rule 6204 – Second Associate Degree

If a student has completed an Associates degree, they do not have to re-take GE requirements. They must complete any new competencies and at least 30 units for the new degree.

 

6] Articulation – B. Guertin

The 09-10 articulation agreements have been established for Cal Poly Pomona, SCU San Bernardino. Ottawa Univ. in Kansas is interested in articulating courses with the district. U of Arizona is also interested in creating an agreement.

 

7] Subcommittees

A. Assessment – L. Lane

Curriculum maps and pathway SLO assessment forms were presented. Deadline for Pathway SLOs was established as March 15. All Pathways will have their SLOs established by this date.
