PRESENT: L. Spink, I. Clarke, J. Lee (co-chair), R. VanDinther, B. Easley, B. Richards, L. McKenzie, C. Mussa-Muldoon, L. Rosas, A. Tomlinson

ABSENT: E. Joiner, B. McNeel, A. Patterson, J. Smith

 

Meeting called to order at 3:37 pm; J. Lee presiding.

 

1. Acceptance of Agenda

Accepted as presented.

 

2. Acceptance of minutes, 11/22/07

Accepted as presented, with correction to spelling of B. Richard’s name.

 

3. Marketing Program Review

L. Spink and B. Richards distributed and discussed the Marketing Program Review and additional materials. Discussion centered on:

 

  • Scope of PIO’s position on campus -- range of concerns.
  • Increase in High School capture rate as opposed to decline in general population.
  • Effectiveness of High School Outreach activities, changing recruitment to counteract future declining student population
  • Input of Schedule/Publications consultant
  • Function of website in general, website schedule, website re-design; capability of videostreaming; list e-mails on directory, include photos of individuals in directory.
  • Possibility of sponsoring events, holding events on campus, such as college fairs, job fairs, open houses.
  • Sending out “Letters of Acceptance” to students
  • Effectiveness of billboards, advertisements, in relation to retention statistics
  • Current Newsletter about bond program mailed to all houses in area
  • Communicating with students who registered but did not come, applied by did not register, etc.
  • Sending out cards with dates, deadlines, etc.
  • Necessity of campus-wide adherence to publication guidelines.
  • Increase internal communications -- play HCTV over monitors, celebrate events

 

It was agreed the cluster would meet again to finish Agenda items shortly.
