III. /IV Update on Construction, Budget/Financials Review

LAHC Actual Expenditures vs. Planned Expenditures

Construction Sequence

Mike reported on the status of current projects, including the near completion of the renovation projects, approval of the grandstands and lights for the athletic fields, readiness of the theater, theater lighting/fine arts bid packages ready to go out mid-June, readiness of loop road for use before graduation. The use of solar panels in new construction on campus, as mandated by the board, was discussed. Dr. Spink reported that the Northeast Academic and Student Services buildings were budgeted between 35-40 million and the construction bid came in at 34.7 million. The necessity for re-evaluating construction priorities was discussed. The decommissioning ceremony and groundbreaking for the Liberal Arts building is scheduled for 7/17.

V. Report from District Oversight Committee (P. Zurbrugg):

The other colleges in the district are dealing with the same issues we are. Major points of discussion included the delays caused by the DSA approval necessity and process.
