Work on the initial needs to begin and it was agreed that the meeting of cluster co-chairs proposed at this committee’s last meeting could in effect take place at the next CPC meeting October 25. It was also formally recommended that CPC meet twice a month, on the second and fourth Mondays, for the remainder of the academic year, initially to deal with the 2006 planning agenda items assigned to it last spring. One suggestion was that World Café style meetings be held again at some point. A question was raised about why the Course Outlines were not posted on the web as soon as they are sent in by the Chairs.
The proposed outcomes-assessment “Pathways” and outcomes-based adjustments in the program review manual were discussed, to implement the move from a program-driven planning process to a student outcomes-based planning process in which outcomes assessment is at the center of the planning process. Dave Humphreys commended Lora Lane, Ellen Joiner, Jim Stanbery and Bob Richards for their help in the development of this approach.
