Self-evaluation is an ongoing process at Los Angeles Harbor College. In 2011, in preparation for the 2012 Self-Evaluation Report, standard teams composed of students, staff, faculty, and administrators focused on the various aspects of college life. In fall 2010 and spring 2011, 86 team members met in 59 meetings to study, discuss, and formulate the final self-evaluation report. Parallel to these meetings, the campus continued its development and assessment of course, program/pathway, and institutional outcomes. The ACCJC self-evaluation process motivated the college to examine its educational curriculum and services, shared governance, budget, and facilities to realize the integral role that each plays in achieving its mission to “foster learning through comprehensive programs that meet the educational needs of the community as measured by student success, personal and institutional accountability, and integrity.”
