Student learning outcomes Assessment
Harbor College is an outcomes-driven institution, where plans and decisions are made as the result of campus-wide dialog about assessment results.
In September 2009, the Assessment Committee was formed as a subcommittee of the Curriculum Committee. Meetings are normally held the third Tuesday of every month.
Course Assessment (SLO's)
All courses active in the course catalog in which a grade is assigned (letter grade, pass/fail, credit/no credit).

Program Assessment (PLO's)
Find organization of degrees and disciplines for program assessment. Locate curriculum maps and assessment forms.
All academic programs that lead to a degree or certificate. Program outcomes should map to the course level outcomes (SLO's) for courses within a discipline that lead to a degree or certificate. All other courses within a discipline that are not required for a degree or certificate will be assessed under the General Education Learning Outcomes (GELO's).

Service Areas Assessment (SAO's)
All programs that do not lead to a degree or certificate.
All services provided on campus that have an effect on the students well being and success.
All student support services that directly promote the well being and success of the students.

General Education Learning Outcomes (GELO's)
General Education Programs that lead to a degree or certificate. This would include all courses that are listed under the General Education AA degrees and certificates as listed in the course catalog. Courses that are either developmental or non-transferable will not fall under this category.
