Kindergarten #157 Morning Session
Academic Enrichment
Games, stories, and songs will help teach children the basics of reading. The alphabet, initial consonant sounds, and story sequencing will be introduced, through games and other fun activities. Advanced students will learn the phonetic value of letters, letter groups, and syllables that will give them the skill to master reading. Number recognition, shape recognition, and some basic math concepts will be introduced.
1st Grade #158 Morning Session
Language Arts & Math
Students in this course will enrich their reading and writing skills. This course will include the basic elements of language arts in addition to vocabulary improvement. Students will read stories, discuss the who, where, when, what, and why, and write critiques in correct grammar, and spelling. Instruction will be given in basic addition and subtraction facts, and primary word problems. Also introduced: telling time, basic geometric shape recognition, and reading simple graphs.
Kindergarten & 1st Grade #159*
Afternoon Session
Playtime Theatre: Children will be able to become their favorite animal, fairy tale character, and tell stories. Cooperation and appreciation of diversity will be emphasized.
Science Discoveries: Explore the world of dinosaurs, soar into outer space, and observe nature’s wonders while enhacing critical thinking.
The Developing Artist: Create and explore various mediums of art in a supportive environment. Students will also make several fun crafts to stimulate their senses. *$25 material fee per child for supplies.
