On Friday, 6-25-2010, the sidewalk north of the existing Library and south of the New LLRC Construction site, moving from east to west inside the campus, will be fenced off, up to the Seahawk Center, in order to perform utility relocation work.
The path of travel between those two areas will be rerouted as follows:
To the north of the construction site and around the campus at the Student Services and Administration Buildings, south on the sidewalk west of the fenced off construction area at the new LLRC, adjacent to the Science Building, and moving east just north of the Seahawk Center.
Southbound pedestrian traffic entering campus from Figueroa Place, will need to utilize the covered walkway running north and south, immediately adjacent to the Cafe 105 and Old Administration Building. Access to Seahawk Center will be to the north of the New Science Complex construction site, on the sidewalk directly in front of the existing Library.
There will no longer be pedestrian or golf cart vehicle access north of the Library between Seahawk and NEA. All access to Library and Learning Center will be open.
Additional large maps will be posted at various points of fencing to assist in direction around the construction site. Detour will be in effect for the whole project duration, until August 2011.
Construction Impact Notice regarding fencing of the new Science Complex construction site to begin Wednesday June 16 at 6:00am
Please be advised that on Friday, May 14, 2010 commencing at 6:00 am, the project fencing for the New Library Learning Resource Center will be put in place.
The areas affected directly will be the North/South Walkways on the east and west sides of the Physics Building.

3/2/10: DWP is currently working from 10:00 PM to 6:00AM at the intersection of L street and Figueroa Pl., installing reclaimed water piping that will feed the campus irrigation system from both Figueroa Pl. and L streets. This will complete our system main line loop.
This is the first phase of the project affecting the campus. The next phase will take place over spring break and will affect L street to the West and stop at the left turn near the corner of lot 8. DWP has committed to night work to accommodate our concerns. While the work is performed at night there will be steel trench plates wherever needed to have the roads open during the day.
The third phase is currently scheduled to take place during our summer break and will run from L street down Figueroa Pl to Anaheim street.
The last phase is not scheduled yet but will run from L street North up Figueroa Street to the Reclaimed Water Treatment Plant in the City of Carson.
Thank you for your understanding and please drive carefully as you commute to and from the campus.
Effective Thursday, February 4, 2010, the North Side of Parking Lot 8, which is accessible from L Street and Campus Drive, will be closed in order to commence the building of the West Parking Structure. The area will be fenced off and no parking will be available until the opening of the new West Parking Structure in Summer 2011.
