Construction Impact Notices

3/2/10: DWP is currently working from 10:00 PM to 6:00AM at the intersection of L street and Figueroa Pl., installing reclaimed water piping that will feed the campus irrigation system from both Figueroa Pl. and L streets. This will complete our system main line loop.

This is the first phase of the project affecting the campus. The next phase will take place over spring break and will affect L street to the West and stop at the left turn near the corner of lot 8.  DWP has committed to night work to accommodate our concerns. While the work is performed at night there will be steel trench plates wherever needed to have the roads open during the day.

The third phase is currently scheduled to take place during our summer break and will run from L street down Figueroa Pl to Anaheim street.

The last phase is not scheduled yet but will run from L street North up Figueroa Street to the Reclaimed Water Treatment Plant in the City of Carson.

Thank you for your understanding and please drive carefully as you commute to and from the campus.

Please be advised that commencing Friday, March 5, 2010, we will begin removal of the asphalt surface and curbs on the West Parking Structure Site (formerly North Parking Lot 8).

This phase of work will commence at 6:30 am and conclude each day at 3:00 pm, running through Wednesday, March 17, 2010. While in progress, please be prepared for heavier than normal traffic along the Lagoon Road and L Street during those hours.

The noise level will be slight, but there will be no debris or dust outside of the fenced area on either Campus Drive or L Street.
