Goalkeeper Roberto Sanchez played the entire game and finished with nine saves.

Scoreless after halftime, Harbor came out attacking early and often. Rodolfo Jauregui's goal off an assist from Tiburcio Casillas came in the 59th minute and gave the Seahawks a 1-0 advantage.

Eight minutes later, Alex Chavez got his 23rd goal of the season off another assist from Casillas for Harbor's 2-0 lead. Casillas was all over the field against the Lancers and missed four wide-open shots in the second half that could have extended the Seahawks' lead to a greater amount.

Roberto Sanchez played the entire game and finished with 19 saves.

Harbor College 2, El Camino Compton College 0

In what was its best performance at home or on the road this season, Harbor College scored a season-high seven goals -- six in the first half -- in a 7-2 thrashing of host El Camino Compton at Compton College.

Harbor was dominant on both sides of the ball and got a three-goal performance from Alex Chavez. Chavez scored within the first two minutes of the game to give Harbor an early 1-0 lead.

Three minutes later, Johnny Aleman launched a shot that arched over El Camino Compton goalkeeper Omar Landeros in the net off an assist from Tiburcio Casillas to open up a 3-0 lead.

In the 12th minute, it was Casillas' turn to score, as he got an easy score off an assist from Chavez to give Harbor a 3-0 lead.

Chavez would sink the dagger into the Tartars' defense with two straight goals in the 16th and 32nd minutes, as the Seahawks pushed the lead to 5-0.

A scintillating headbutt assist by Damian Hildalgo to Jose Garcia, who headbutted in another score, put Harbor up 6-0 at halftime.

The Tartars scored twice in the second half, but Harbor managed to put up another score, once again by Casillas off another Chavez assist. The two connected on three goals for Harbor, which notched 18 shots for the game.

Jonathan Belcher had five saves in 70 minutes, while Roberto Sanchez completed the game with two saves.

Harbor College 2, El Camino College 1

Harbor College found itself facing a hungrier El Camino team in the second meeting between the two teams, but the results was the same.

The Seahawks, behind 19 shots, two penalty kick scores and team defense, fended off the Warriors 2-1 at Seahawk Stadium.

Miguel Sanchez and Alex Chavez each scored penalty kicks for the Seahawks, which took a 2-0 lead 21 minutes into the game.

El Camino, managed to score in the 36th minute to cut the lead to one and a myriad of close calls followed until the end of regulation.

The Seahawks had a plethora of shots at the net, one by Chavez hitting the top bar and coming up short a few inches from the goal. El Camino only had seven shots for the game, but most of them came in the second half.

Goalkeeper Jonathan Belcher finished with five saves.

Long Beach City College 3, Harbor College 1

With a defense riddled with constant shots, the Harbor men's soccer team ended up losing its third consecutive road game in a 3-1 loss at Long Beach City College.

Alex Chavez continued his scoring binge with his 17th goal of the season off an assist by Rodolfo Jauregui in the 37th minute to cut the Vikings' lead to one.

Long Beach scored the first two goals of the game, both from Kevin Morgan, who also scored in the 49th minute to push the lead back to two.

The Vikings launched 19 shots at goalkeeper Roberto Sanchez, with most of them coming through the first half. LBCC reached double-digit shots before the first half ended. Harbor, meanwhile, finished with 11 shots for the game.

Harbor College 3, Cerritos College 2

The Harbor men's soccer team turned in a clutch performance at Seahawk Stadium with a thrilling 3-2 win over Cerritos College.

Tiburcio Casillas's score in the first half was the only score in the first 45 minutes, but the Seahawks were pressuring Cerritos throughout the first half and most of the second half. Another Casillas score went past two defenders to give Harbor a commanding 2-0 led at the 69th minute.

Harbor appeared to have the game locked up, but Cerritos turned the tables in quick fashion, scoring two goals in the 80th and 83rd minute to tie the game.

Both teams lost a player to a red card, as Bryan Escareno was ejected late in the second half. But Cerritos' ejection proved to be the deciding factor on the fifth and final goal scored for the game.

Casillas, with less than two minutes to play, broke free and attempted to score, but was tripped up by the Falcons' Renee Hernandez, who was given a red card after the play.

Alex Chavez opted to take the penalty kick and scored an easy goal for Harbor's third and game-winning score. The Seahawk defense held tight for the final minute and Harbor walked away with its 12th win of the season, fourth in conference.

Mt. San Antonio College 3, Harbor College 1

Without leading scorer Alex Chavez (illness) and saves leader Jonathan Belcher (illness), the Harbor men's soccer team had trouble scoring and defending in a 3-1 loss to host Mt. San Antonio College Tuesday evening.

The Seahawks suffered its third loss in their last four games. After trailing 2-0 early in the first half, Miguel Sanchez scored a goal off an assist from Tiburcio Casillas to cut the Mounties' lead to one.

Harbor hung tough with Mt. Sac for most of the game, but a late goal by the Mounties off a breakaway put the game out of reach.

Roberto Sanchez filled in for Belcher and notched seven saves.

Harbor College 2, East Los Angeles College 0

The Harbor men's soccer team, coming off the losing end of a dogfight with Pasadena City College, battled with East Los Angeles for most of the game.

All it took was a span of two minutes during the second half to get the Seahawks back into form as Harbor blanked East L.A. 2-0.

The Seahawks turned in a solid defensive performance against the Huskies, which scored two goals on them in the first meeting this season.

In the 69th minute in the second half, Alex Chavez broke free from a defender and scored a breakaway goal to give Harbor a1-0 lead. Chavez's goal, his 15th of the season, turned the momentum into Harbor's favor, as it began a run of attacks at East L.A.'s net.

One of the attacks cost the Huskies a yellow card and gave David Hernandez a penalty kick and score in the 71st minute. Harbor finished with 17 shots, while East L.A. had only eight.

Goalkeeper Roberto Sanchez started the home game and finished with seven saves.

Pasadena City College 5, Harbor College 3

Despite a career day by Alex Chavez, Harbor College could not prevent Pasadena City College from a 5-3 win at Pasadena Tuesday afternoon.

The loss was Harbor's second straight, third consecutive at Pasadena. The suddenly-reeling men's soccer team, minus Tiburcio Casillas via injury, stayed close with the Lancers in the first half, as Chavez scored off a miss and got another score off a 50-yard throw from Edson Rivera to keep the score even at halftime 2-2.

But Pasadena ruled the second half, scoring three straight goals to put the game out of reach. Harbor allowed two of Pasadena's five goals on penalty kicks and suffered three yellow cards. Both team had 12 shots for the game, but it was the Lancers that were reaching the net more often.

Chavez's third goal was a penalty kick late in the second half. Numerous missed opportunities by Chavez, Bryan Escareno and Johnny Aleman ended the Seahawks' chances.

Jonathan Belcher played the entire game and finished with six saves.

El Camino Compton College 2, Harbor College 0

Harbor held tought for one half with El Camino Compton, but the second half was another story for the Seahawks, which lost 2-0 at Seahawk Stadium.

The men's soccer team had a field day as it routed the Warriors 5-1 at El Camino.

Cerritos College 5, Harbor College 0

Harbor College, usually used to shutting out its opponents, found itself at the other end for the first time this season, but third straight time on Cerritos College's home field.

The No. 8-ranked Seahawks were blanked 5-0 by No. 2-ranked Cerritos, suffering its worst defeat since losing 7-1 at Mt. San Antonio in Sept. 2007.

Harbor, which dropped to 9-2-1 and 1-1-1 in conference, was never able to mount a serious run at the net, finishing with only six shots for the game. Yellow cards, along with some aggressive Cerritos defense, kept the Seahawks frustrated for most of the game. Tiburcio Casillas received a red card near the end of the first half and was done for the game. From there, everything went down hill for Harbor, which only trailed 1-0 at halftime.

Harbor surrendered two goals with two minutes of each other early in the second half. Two more goals came later off an assist and a single breakaway score to put the game completely out of reach.

Harbor had three yellow cards for the game and had trouble defending goalkeeper Roberto Sanchez, who played the full 90 minutes and finished with nine saves.

Harbor College 1, Mt. San Antonio 1

Harbor College, coming off a major win at East Los Angeles College, battled once more with another formidable conference rival.

The then 15th-ranked men's soccer team found themselves challenged at all positions and drew a 1-1 tie with then second-ranked Mt. San Antonio at Seahawk Stadium.

Mt. Sac got the early advantage as it scored off a headbutt in a crowd full of players from both teams. The Mounties, which had 10 shots for the game, couldn't come up with any other major opportunities as Harbor (9-1-1, 1-0-1) got a penalty kick score from Tiburcio Casillas in the 43rd minute and the teams battled to a halftime tie.

Defense and aggression was al that occurred during a scoreless second half. Harbor and Mt. Sac got more physical down the stretch and kept each other from any other chances. Six yellow cards were issued, four of them to Mt. Sac (including a red card). Harbor, which had eight shots for the game, got seven saves from goalkeeper Roberto Sanchez.

Harbor College 4, East Los Angeles 2

The men's soccer team survived an early dogfight with a feisty East Los Angeles team and scored three unanswered goals to earn a hard-fought 4-2 win at East L.A. College.

Harbor, which got its ninth win of the season and first in conference, got an early goal from Alex Chavez off an assist from Tiburcio Casillas four minutes into the game to take a 1-0 lead.

East L.A. would answer back with two straight goals to take a 2-1 lead near halftime. However, a goal by Bryan Escareno off another Casillas assist with two minutes left in the first half evened the score.

The Seahawks survived three yellow cards to mount a more aggressive defense on the Huskies in the second half. A breakaway goal by Chavez (assisted by David Hernandez) gave Harbor the lead again, but the Seahawks weren't finished.

Ricky Ramirez nailed a kick from nearly 60 yards out to Johnny Aleman, who scored the final goal for Harbor and deflating any chances of an East L.A. comeback.

Regular starting goalkeeper Jonathan Belcher had three saves but only played the first half. Roberto Sanchez played the second half and finished with two saves.

Harbor College 5, Citrus College 1

The upbeat men's soccer team finally got a game underway with Citrus College after a previous cancellation forced the teams to meet weeks later. Harbor couldn't wait any longer, as it pounced on the Owls with a scoring frenzy in a 5-1 win at Citrus.

Alex Chavez continued to be the main threat behind Harbor's (8-1-0) high-scoring lineup, as he put in two goals along with three assists. Tiburcio Casillas broke out of a four-game, goal-less drought with two goals. Bryan Escareno got on board with two assists.

Goalkeeper Jonathan Belcher returned to action and played the full 90 minutes notching only two saves for the game.

The five goals scored were a season-high for the Seahawks, which haven't score five goals since a 5-0 shutout of Imperial Valley last September.

Harbor College 2, Imperial Valley 0

Harbor College, coming off a tough 4-2 loss at home to Chaffey College, took its first-loss frustrations out on host Imperial Valley with a 2-0 win, the team's sixth shutout victory this season.

Chaffey took it to Harbor for the entire game, scoring in the 33rd minute of the first half and becoming the first opposing team this season to score on Harbor on its home field. The Seahawks (6-1), however, answered back in the second half with a penalty kick from Edson Rivera in the 49th minute to tie the game.

Midway in the second half, a scintillating corner pass and score by the Cougars gave them a 2-1 lead. But Ricky Ramirez immediately got Harbor back into the mix with a headbutt score off an assist from Tiburcio Casillas just two minutes later.

The even score would be broken beyond repair when Chaffey came away with two breakaway scores within the last seven minutes of the contest.

Goalkeeper Jonathan Belcher had eight saves for the game, but not enough to prevent 4-of-9 shots from hitting the back of the net.

Harbor College 4, Orange Coast College 0

Harbor men's soccer dominated OCC in quick fashion, getting a score from Alex Chavez just 30 seconds into the game in a 4-0 rout.

Edson Rivera would score in the 24th minute to give a Harbor (6-0) a solid 2-0 lead. Goals added by Johnny Aleman and Kenny Garay pushed the lead to what would be the final score of the game. Harbor used tough defense to shut out OCC, which was never able to mount a serious attack throughout the game.

Freshmen Alex Chavez and Johnny Aleman set the tone for the Seahawks, scoring goals within the game's first 15 minutes. Aleman's goal was an acrobatic one off a headbutt assist from sophomore Kenny Garay in the 32nd minute of the first half.  Aleman also assisted freshman Bryan Escareno on his last-second goal to complete the scoring.

Goalkeepers Jonathan Belcher and Roberto Sanchez split time again between the posts, as Belcher notched four saves and Sanchez one. L. A. Mission (1-1) was only able to get off four shots for the game, as the Harbor defense swarmed around all of the Cougars' attempts at breakaway plays.
