Harbor plays complete game

in rout of Long Beach City

The men's basketball team returned home and responded from Wednesday's loss at El Camino in convincing fashion behind Chris Avery's 23 points and seven rebounds as the Seahawks ran to a 83-68 victory over visiting Long Beach City College Friday evening.

Avery was 3-of-7 from the three-point line, 9-of-18 shooting overall. John Raquel continued his strong play with 22 points, five rebounds and six assists for the Seahawks (10-12, 2-2 South Coast Conference), which gave the Vikings their first conference loss this season three games in.

Harbor led 42-34 at halftime and pushed its lead to double digits throughout the second half. The eight-point deficit was as close as the Vikings got to begin the second half.

Bola Egbeyemi had a solid game with 12 points and 4-of-6 shooting and was 4-of-4 from the free throw line. Egbeyemi added five rebounds, while Tyler Nelson had another all-around performance with six rebounds, seven assists and four steals to go with four points.

The Seahawks will visit Compton for a non-conference match-up with the Tartars Wednesday night at 7:30 p.m.
